The Missouri River Bluffs: A Climbing History
Published: December 13, 2022
Presentation by Jim Karpowicz and Mike Jenner
Hosted by Missouri River Relief
For December’s Big Muddy Speaker Series, Missouri Native rock climbers, Jim Karpowicz and Mike Jenner told tales of their rock-climbing journeys and delved into the history of rock climbing in Boone County.
Missouri rock climbers Jim Karpowicz and Mike Jenner began their climbing careers in the late 1970s on the Burlington limestone bluffs overlooking the Missouri River. While their professional careers have been focused on producing nature documentaries and community journalism, their passion for climbing has been a central theme of their lives.
After adventures that have taken them from the high peaks of the Sierras and Rockies to the towers of the American desert and crags across North America, they return to the cliffs where they began more than 40 years ago.' ', ) ); */?>
